What is the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation?

in 2000, a group of NYOH physicians and staff established the Capital District Cancer Resource Foundation as an independent 501(c)(3) organization to provide emergency financial support for local residents undergoing cancer treatments.

Rebranded as the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation in 2007, the foundation continues to serve the Capital Region by offering support to alleviate the physical and emotional burdens of a cancer diagnosis. For over 20 years, the foundation has provided not only financial assistance to thousands of individuals but also small acts of kindness that make a significant impact during treatment. The NYOH Community Cancer Foundation also supports various patient education programs and resources that offer emotional support to cancer patients, their family members and caregivers.

To qualify for financial assistance, applicants must meet the following criteria:

- Received a cancer diagnosis and undergone treatment within the past 12 months.

- Be 18 years of age or older.

- Reside in the Capital District encompassing Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington counties.

The Foundation relies on the generosity of individuals, community organizations, local businesses, our patients, and their loved ones, as well as NYOH providers and staff, to fulfill its mission.

What is Rock Your Style?

Established in 2008, this extraordinary event has supported local non-profits, raising over $600,000 for Capital Region residents in need. In its last year in 2019, Rock Your Style proudly supported Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region, significantly impacting the community. Now after a brief hiatus, we are thrilled to bring back the highly anticipated return of Rock Your Style. We're gearing up to surpass all expectations, reigniting the runway with an even greater passion for giving back. The event's premise is simple yet powerful. 20+ carefully chosen models from the community will grace the runway each setting a personal goal to secure donations from their network of friends, family and business contacts. The impact doesn't stop there, Revenue is generated through various channels, including your personal fundraising efforts, corporate sponsorships, in-kind donations for exciting raffles and silent auctions and ticket sales to the event.
