Let's Rock Your Style to Support Local Cancer Patients!

Hey friends! I'm thrilled to share that I've been selected as a model for an upcoming Rock Your Style® fundraiser on Saturday, September 21 to support the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation. This means that I'm raising awareness and funds to help local people with cancer!

As most of you know, on Dec 31, 2020, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer that had spread with a nasty Tumor in my back. The NYOH community played a big role in why I am here to tell this story today. Along with NYOH & Albany Medical doctors and nurses, I had an unmatched support system of family and friends. It was the heat of Covid, and I had that too! I was admitted into the hospital alone and scared and remained there through 2 of my 4 very vigorous chemo treatments, only to see family via facetime for 61 days. I did get to go home for very short windows before being having to be admitted again many times for an additional 2 chemo treatments 15-25 days each and many blood transfusions. Finally, on March 20th, I got to ring that almighty last treatment bell, which fortunately for me, it was the last time I rang it. It surely was not the end of my battle.

On May 11, 2021, three amazing teams were able to perform an 11 hr surgery to remove my shrunken tumor. April 2022 was the 1 yr mark of clean scans! April 2023 2 years April 2024 3 years - what a crazy ride. Years of side effects that will never make me the same again. But here I am able to strut myself across a stage in good fun to raise awareness for this nasty disease!
