I'm a Champion for Colorectal Cancer Awareness!
Join me and help make a difference for the patients I have the honor of caring for!
Did you know that colorectal cancer is the 2nd most common cancer diagnosed in New York, with a rapid increase in people ages 20-49 newly diagnosed? As a nurse, I see it every day. I treat patients in their early 20s, 30s, 40s more and more…. It never used to be this way.
This is why I've joined the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation's Colorectal Check Challenge --- to spread the word about the importance of cancer screening and celebrate survivorship. Also, all funds that I raise will stay LOCAL, helping pay for basic needs such as groceries, transportation, and rent for people going through cancer treatment right now. I get to see firsthand the impact that the foundation has on our patients. No one going through cancer treatment should have to worry about how they are going to eat or keep their lights on.
Looking for other ways to support? There's a closing celebration on Sunday, March 29th at Carson's Woodside Tavern in Malta, open to all. Come and join me and others involved in the Colorectal Check Challenge with some good food, music, and raffle prizes to close out the month. Tickets are on sale now for $30/presale.
Thank you so much. Every little bit helps!
